Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Kentucky State University's women's basketball team lost to Benedict College 74-52 in the championship game of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Saturday.
The Lady Tigers led 11-10 after the first quarter and outscored the Thorobrettes 21-12 in the second to take a 32-22 lead into halftime.
Benedict added to its lead in the third quarter and took a 52-33 lead into the final quarter.
KaDeeja Vaughn 21 and Regime McCombs led the Lady Tigers (27-2) with 21 and 18 points, respectively. Vaughn also had 12 rebounds.
Logan Powell led K-State with 12 points and was followed by Taylor Sanders with 11 points.
The loss ended a 17-game winning streak for KSU (24-4).
