Box Score TUSKEGEE, Ala. - The Kentucky State University women's basketball team pushed their current winning streak to 12 games with a win over SIAC opponent Tuskegee University, 64-50, on Saturday afternoon at the Chappie James Center.
With the victory, KSU moves to 20-4 overall and 15-2 in SIAC play. The Thorobrettes earn 20 wins in a season for the first time since the 1996-97 season when they finished 25-6. Tuskegee falls to KSU for the second time this season to drop to 2-19 overall, 2-12 in conference action.
Four Thorobrettes scored in double figures on Saturday, led by
Ashley Huddleston who finished with 17 points. Huddleston, who went 6-of-9 from the floor off the bench for KSU, also finished with three assists and a game-high three steals.
Brieona Warner finished with 12 points and six rebounds.
Logan Powell added 11 points.
Shayla Moore contributed with 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
TU was led by Rachel Brownlee who finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Kentucky State returns to the Exum Center on Tuesday, Feb. 24, for the Thorobrettes final game of the regular season when they host Stillman College at 5:30 p.m. In between the games, seniors from the women's and men's basketball team will be honored with a ceremony. The Thorobrettes will be graduating five seniors (
