TUSCALOSSA, Ala. – The Kentucky State University men's basketball team is left searching for answers after falling to 3-8 in SIAC play after a loss to the Stillman College Tigers, 75-68, on Saturday afternoon at Birthright Gymnasium.
 
Stillman (12-7, 8-4 SIAC), currently second in the SIAC West Division standings, held the lead 36:35 on Saturday. Kentucky State (5-13, 3-8 SIAC) suffers another disappointing conference loss as the Thorobreds have now lost five straight SIAC contests.
 
After a Ulysses Thomas III 3-pointer tied the game at 11-11 with just under 14 minutes remaining in the first half, Stillman went on a 13-0 run that would give them the lead for good. Kentucky State didn't go away quietly though, cutting the Tigers lead to four or less seven times during the game, but the Thorobreds were unable to completely close the gap.
 
KSU actually shot the ball slightly more effectively than Stillman, connecting on 42 percent of their attempts compared to 40 percent for SC, but the Tigers held advantages in several other key areas. SC finished with a +10 advantage on the boards, all coming on the offensive end as Stillman pulled down 17 offensive rebounds to Kentucky State's seven.
 
Thomas led KSU offensively with a season-high 26 points to go along with six rebounds. Forward Darrien Wilkins finished with his third double-double of the season after scoring 10 points and pulling down 14 boards. Malcolm Smith added 13 points. Starting point guard Quentin Henderson had a game-high four steals.
 
Stillman was led by the tandem of Rodnerius Lewis and Markeith Madison. Lewis finished with 25 points after going 7-of-14 from the floor and 10-of-15 from the free-throw line. Madison added 24 points. Harold Ingram pulled down five boards on both the offensive and defensive ends to finish with a team-high 10 rebounds.

Kentucky State now travels Bruce/Johnson Hall for a match-up with LeMoyne-Owen (9-9, 6-4 SIAC) this Monday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
