Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. –Shaia Horton scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the second half to help the Kentucky State University Thorobrettes defeat the Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers, 81-68, in a SIAC women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at the Exum Center.

Kentucky State (7-3, 3-1 SIAC) led by just two, 36-34, at halftime but shot 52 percent from the field as a unit in the second half to pull away from Clark Atlanta (4-6, 1-3 SIAC). One of the keys to victory for the Thorobrettes was their dominance on the glass on both ends of the floor. KSU outrebounded the Lady Panthers 49-31 overall and held a plus-10 advantage on the offensive glass.

Horton did more than just score the ball for KSU. She also pulled down five boards of her own and tallied four assists. Kentucky State had five total players score in double figures on Saturday.
Logan Powell and
Brieona Warner finished with 12 points each. Both also crashed the boards with Warner grabbing seven and Powell six. Guard
Jessica Jones came off the bench to finish with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Shayla Moore added 10 points, six boards and five assists.

The Lady Panthers were led offensively by starting center Siera Bubb who finished with 18 points but was limited to just three in the second half. Forward Denissea Law went 5-for-14 from the floor to finish with 11 points and six rebounds. Guard Nekia Sockwell added 10 points for CAU.

The Thorobrettes wrap-up their three-game home stand with a match-up against SIAC opponent Paine College on Monday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM at the Exum Center.
