Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The Kentucky State University women's basketball team defeated the LeMoyne-Owen Lady Magicians, 65-57, in an SIAC contest on Thursday evening at the Exum Center.
The Thorobrettes (8-12, 4-8 SIAC) have now won three straight games, and four out of their last five.
The LeMoyne-Owen Lady Magicians (3-16, 3-7 SIAC) fall to the Thorobrettes for the second time in three games. The teams met on Jan. 27th in Memphis, TN where KSU prevailed, 64-61.
The Thorobrettes were led offensively by a pair of guards, with both and Taylor Sanders and Ashley Huddleston scoring a team-high 15 points. Sanders also had six rebounds and two steals.
Junior forward Brieona Warner, who was named the women's basketball SIAC Player of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday, continued to stuff the stat sheet with nine points, six rebounds, six steals and three blocks.
The Lady Magicians were led by Tenesha Wright who finished with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. LOC center Ganasua Hall contributed with 12 points and three blocks.
Kentucky State will host the Miles College Lady Golden Bears this Saturday, Feb. 8th, at the Exum Center before hosting rival Central State this Monday, Feb. 10th, at the Frankfort Convention Center.
