Thorobrettes Fall to Wilberforce 88-67

Box Score Wilberforce, Ohio -- The Kentucky State University women's basketball team fell to the Wilberforce Lady Bulldogs, 88-67, in a non-conference game on Wednesday evening in Wilberforce, Ohio.

Kentucky State, coming off an impressive win at home against Central State on Monday, drop to 10-13 overall. The Thorobrettes had been riding a five game winning streak before the loss to Wilberforce on Wednesday.

The Thorobrettes were led by center Teeuntra Moore who had a team-high of 15 points, shooting an impressive 7-of-10 from the field. Nandi Taylor, 13 points, and LaShell West, 12 points, both scored in double figures as well.

Kentucky State kept things close in the first half trailing only by three at the intermission, 40-37. Wilberforce pulled away in the second half outscoring Kentucky State by 18 points on their way the 88-67 win.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 39% from 3-point range, connecting on 7-of-18 shots from beyond the arc over the course of the game. In contrast, the Thorobrettes connected on just 15% of their 3-point attempts, going 2-of-13 from deep over the course of the game.

Wilberforce was led by guard Brittani Thomas who poured in a game-high 23 points. Da'Sha'Nay Corley added 16 points and Danisha Brown contributed with 12 points.

Next up for Kentucky State is a match-up with Lane College on Saturday, Feb. 15th, in Jackson, TN. The teams met in Frankfort earlier this season when the Thorobreds topped the Lady Dragons, 72-69.
