Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The Kentucky State University women's basketball team has now pushed their season-high winning streak to five after an, 81-74, win against rival Central State in a non-conference game on Monday night at the Frankfort Convention Center.
Kentucky State improves to 10-12 overall after sweeping the season series against the Lady Marauders.
Shayla Moore had a stellar game with a game-high 20 points and 17 rebounds against CSU. Moore was aggressive throughout the game going to the free-throw line frequently, finishing 8-for-11 from the charity stripe.
Style Harper contributed with 15 points and five rebounds. Brieona Warner finished with 11points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
The Lady Maruaders (6-12, 1-9 G-MAC) were cold early, shooting just 30% as a team from the floor in the first half. In the second half, CSU was more effective, shooting 41% from the floor but they couldn't cut the Kentucky State lead to less than five.
Lash finished the game with the team high 17 points and 12 rebounds while Shakeira Lang finished not too far behind with 15 points and three rebounds. Amanda Pierce also contributed with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Next up for Kentucky State is a match-up with the Bulldogs of Wilberforce University on Wednesday, Feb. 12th, in Wilberforce, Ohio.Â
