KSU Thorobreds Handle LeMoyne-Owen College, 69-57

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Kentucky State held off LeMoyne-Owen, 69-57, on Thursday evening at Bruce/Johnson Hall. The Thorobreds used the three-point shot and strong interior defense to outlast the Magicians.
 
With the victory KSU moves to 10-9 overall and 8-5 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

Guard Davin Anderson had an excellent all around game finishing with 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals. Ulysses Thomas III led the Thorobreds offensively, finishing the game with a team high 16 points.
 
LeMoyne-Owen slides to 6-16 overall and 4-9 in SIAC action with the loss.

The Magicians had three players reach double figures, led by Samuel Hill who finished Thursday night's contest with 18 points. Forward Edwin Shorter chipped in with 10 points and three blocks but was limited late in the game with foul trouble.
 
Both teams shot over 42% from the floor overall but the Thorobreds hit their outside shots much more consistently. KSU finished 6-of-12 from beyond the arc while the Magicians hit just 1-of-8 for the game.

The Thorobreds finish off their road trip this Saturday with a men's and women's doubleheader against Miles College in Birmingham, Ala.
