FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State Thorobrettes defeated Lane College, 72-55, on Saturday afternoon at the Exum Center. Senior guard
Sharnita Lloyd led the way offensively for KSU pouring in 26 points, shooting 10-of-17 from the field and dishing out a team high four assists.
The victory moves Kentucky State's record to 13-10 overall and 9-5 in SIAC play.
Lane College moves to 7-15 overall and 4-10 in SIAC action this season.
Freshman guard
Ikiah Palmer had one of her best games of the season finishing with a double-double. Palmer scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward
Kristi Malohi was just a point shy of finishing with a double-double herself. Malohi finished the game with nine points and 14 rebounds.
Center Cellonda Crawford led the way for the Dragons, finishing with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Lane forward Crystal Rayford finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
KSU is off until next week when they host conference opponent Tuskegee University. The game will serve as the Thorobrette's annual Play 4 Kay game. The purpose of the event is to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research. The women's game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m in the Exum Center.
