FRANKFORT, Ky. – In a game played before more than 1,700 fans, KSU defeated the Lady Marauders of Central State 69-57.
Shooting 50 percent in the first half, the Thorobrettes took a 12-point lead at halftime and maintained it for the rest of the game.
Central State (7-10) shot a woeful 22.7 percent from the field in the first half as it trailed 31-19 at the break.

Kiera Nelson (Cordova, TN) was 9-for-14 from the field and finished with a game-high 21 points, and teammate
Raven Ward (East St. Louis, IL) was 8-for-13 for 17 points.
Also scoring for KSU (9-6) were
Megan Larue (Lexington, KY) with eight points,
Asia Dubose (Cincinnati, OH),
Christine Gaywood (Cape Coral, FL) and
Joanna Powell (Cincinnati, OH) with six points each.
Gaywood had 10 rebounds, and Morgan had seven blocked shots and four steals.
The Thorobrettes had 25 assists, led by Dubose with eight and Ward with six.
Regina Allen led Central State with 17 points, and Laura Longmire had 10.
