Gridiron Moving Company Day Held Yesterday

On August 20, 2010, Kentucky State University's Gridiron Moving Company assisted new, and returning, students move into their dorms. Gridiron Moving Company, made up of the KSU football squad, began in August 2009 with the idea of not just giving back to the community, but giving back to the campus community as well.

Andrew Ramsey, a running back from Atlanta, Ga. stated, “The Kentucky State Thorobreds are here to help. We're going from dorm-to-dorm, helping students move into their rooms. An event like this helps the team bond together and helps us give back to and support our fans.”

Jansen Penman, who plays linebacker for the 'Breds, said this day “shows our fans how good of a team we are on, and off, the field.”

Kentucky State, a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, has a 2010 student enrollment of 2,709 and houses these students in seven dorms: M. Chandler Hall, Bert T. Combs Hall, Ann J. Hunter Hall, Kentucky Hall, James A. McCullin Hall, The Halls (formerly Young Hall) and Whitney M. Young Hall.
