Marion Quinn, a Tuskegee, Alabama native attended KSU from 1968 to 1972. He was a stand-out tailback for the Thorobreds and helped lead the team to the 1971 Orange Blossom Classic in Miami, Florida. He also was an outstanding baseball player. He earn four athletic letters each in football and baseball.

Marion began his professional career as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Football Coach at Knoxville College in Tennessee. After five seasons and one SIAC Conference championship, he became the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Knoxville College. His team won the Division III SIAC Conference Championship in 1981 and 1983. The 100% Wrong Club of Atlanta, Georgia named him SIAC Division III Coach of the year in 1981. After five years as Head Coach, he became the Dean of Students at Knoxville College in 1984.

In 1989, Marion left Knoxville College to begin a career with Knox County Schools as a Teacher, Head Football Coach, Assistant Principal and Principal before becoming Supervisor of Health, Physical Education and County Athletic Director in 2004. In 2010, Marion retired but continues part time as the County Athletic Director.

Marion is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee.
