Kate Lambert enters her first season as head softball coach at Kentucky State and her sixth year in collegiate coaching.

Lambert most recently served as an assistant coach at Miles College, helping guide the Golden Bears to a third-place finish during the 2025-26 season. She also helped develop two all-conference selections who were invited to participate in the HBCU All-Star Game in Charlotte, North Carolina. One of those student-athletes earned Most Valuable Player honors at the event.

Lambert’s collegiate coaching experience also includes serving as head coach at Wiley University and as an assistant coach at Talladega College.

A former Miles College student-athlete, Lambert helped lead the Golden Bears to consecutive second-place finishes during her junior and senior seasons in 2016 and 2017. Her experience as a student-athlete and coach has provided her with a strong foundation in player development, recruiting, practice planning, game preparation and building competitive team cultures.

Lambert earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Miles College in 2018 and a Master of Social Work from Simmons University in 2020.
