Antonio Wells joined the Kentucky State coaching staff in August 2014 as Assistant Cross Country/Track and Field Coach.
Wells focuses on jumps and middle distance events.
Wells, who is a native of Dublin, Ga., was a three-year distance runner for Fort Valley State University from 2005 through 2008. Wells was named to the 2007 All-SIAC Track and Field Second Team in the steeple chase event. In 2008, he was named the Most Valuable Runner for the FVSU cross country team after earning a spot on the All-SIAC Cross Country Second Team.
Wells was a member of the Fort Valley State track and field coaching staff from 2009-12. In his time with the Wildcats, Wells coached 12 All-Conference Athletes, five SIAC Champions, four All-Americans and one three-time NCAA DII National Champion.
Wells is USA Track & Field Level I Coaching Certified.
A graduate of Fort Valley State University, Wells earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is currently working on his master’s degree in business administration at Kentucky State. Antonio resides in Frankfort, Ky.
