FRANKFORT, Ky. – Despite several hard-fought rallies and 21 ties throughout the match, Kentucky State men's volleyball fell in straight sets to Benedict Saturday afternoon at Bell Gym.
The opening frame was a back and forth featuring 12 ties. Kentucky State held an 11-9 lead following a Benedict error, but a 5-0 run led the Tigers to a 25-21 set win.
Kentucky State found their offensive rhythm, recording a match-high of 15 kills in the second set.
Jamir Patterson helped the Thorobreds to a late surge that would tie the game set at 17-17. Benedict found a pair of kills late in the set to take the win 25-22 and a 2-0 match lead.
In the third set, the Tigers jumped ahead early and maintained control taking a 25-19 set win and a 3-0 match sweep.

The Thorobreds will remain at home as they host Eward Waters April 3-4 inside of Bell Gym.
