GEORGETOWN, Ky. – In an early-week matchup, Kentucky State softball fell in both games of Tuesday's doubleheader, 8-1 in Game 1 and 5-3 in Game 2, against nonconference opponent Georgetown.
Georgetown got ahead early, scoring seven runs in four innings, before Andrayln Brown scored on a passed ball in the sixth inning. The Tigers added one run in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure an 8-1 victory. Three Thorobreds each recorded one hit: Brown,
Jorden Bowman and Zara Roswell.
At the plate, the Thorobreds improved, recording six hits in the second game. In the sixth inning,
Tiahna Bowman singled to drive in her cousin,
Jorden Bowman. Kentucky State closed out the inning with a two-run single by
Makayla Coffey. Georgetown edged the Thorobreds 5-3 in Game 2.
