ATLANTA – Despite a strong second half, the Kentucky State men's basketball team could not overcome an early deficit, falling 80-66 to Morehouse on Tuesday.
Kentucky State struggled to find its rhythm early, facing a 27-point deficit heading into halftime. However, the Thorobreds regained offensive momentum in the second half, outscoring the Maroon Tigers 47-34.
Terin Wofford led all scorers with 18 points, including seven field goals. Three additional Thorobreds scored in double figures:
Sean Paige had 14 points,
Dashawn Hall scored 11 and
Aziel Blackwell tallied 10.
From the field, Morehouse outpaced Kentucky State 28-22 and held a 7-2 advantage from beyond the arc. The Maroon Tigers also won the battle on the boards, out-rebounding the Thorobreds 40-27.
