NASHVILLE – Kentucky State men's basketball head coach
Dr. Jamaal Jackson will be a guest speaker at the Inaugural Soldiers to Sidelines (STS) Coaching Summit from July 24-26, at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
Expecting over 450 attendees from the military community, the summit will feature a diverse background of keynote speakers, breakout sessions led by coaching professionals, and the opportunity for participants to earn an in-person certification as an STS Soldier Coach. Attendees will also gain mentorship, leadership tools, and a national network of coaches who lead with service and strength.
Soldiers to Sidelines is a non-profit organization designed to develop military men and women with knowledge, confidence, skills, and a network to coach at the youth, high school, collegiate, and even professional levels.
Jackson is entering his tenth year leading the men's basketball program, during the 2024-25 season the Thorobreds finished 13-14 on the season and 9-11 in SIAC play. He also played a key role in the development of
Lavar Miller Jr. who led NCAA DII in three-pointers per game and was named to the BOXTOROW Division II HBCU All-American First Team.
