FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State softball was edged 6-5 by Spring Hill in a 10-inning battle Saturday.
The Badgers found one run in the second inning and two runs in the third inning to take an early 3-0 lead over the Thorobreds.

Andralyn Brown followed with an infield single to second, scoring Dudley. With the bases loaded,
Tayler Floyd dropped down a bunt single to plate Brown and tie the game at 3-3 through four innings.
Spring Hill took a 4-3 lead at the top of the sixth inning, but a double into center field from
Aaliyah Long drove in both
Makayla Coffey and Floyd to put the Thorobreds ahead 5-4 at the end of the inning.
At the top of the seventh with two outs and one Badger in scoring position a bad hop on a ground ball to third baseman Brown allowed the tying run score (5-5) and send the game to extra innings.
Both teams held each other scoreless for the eighth and ninth inning until a single into left field scored one run for the Badgers in tenth inning secured a 6-5 extra inning win.
ON DECK
The Thorobreds will head to Georgetown, Kentucky for a doubleheader with Georgetown April 15, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
