FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State softball celebrated International Women's Day being cheered on by the Second Street Softball team during their home opener doubleheader against Georgetown Saturday.
The Thorobreds connected with the young athletes of the Second Street Softball team, signing posters and softballs while sharing their love for the game in celebration of International Women's Day.
In the opening game of the doubleheader, Georgetown scored one run in the first inning and added four runs in both the third and fifth to secure a 9-0 win.
Ashley Adkins led the Thorobreds at the plate, going 1-for-2, while
LillieAnn Hollom recorded a stolen base.
Although the Thorobreds dropped the second game 9-2, they out hit the Tigers 6-4 during the contest. Lisaunet Flores had scored on a passed ball along with putting a double in the score the book.
UP NEXT
The Thorobreds will head to Birmingham, Alabama March 11-13 for the SIAC Crossover.
