ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its postseason awards for men's basketball on Wednesday, as two Kentucky State student-athlete earned honors.
Leading the nation with an average of 4.20 three-pointers per game, senior
Lavar Miller Jr. earned a spot on the All-SIAC first team. He has paced Kentucky State this season with 19.2 points per game, shooting over 38% from beyond the arc and recording 60 assists. Miller had a career-best performance on Jan. 4 at Benedict, hitting nine three-pointers.
As a junior,
Aziel Blackwell led Kentucky State at the free-throw line with 134 makes, shooting over 77% while averaging 17.7 points per game to earn a spot on the All-SIAC third team. He recorded a season-high 33 points and made 14 free throws against Edward Waters on Dec. 2, 2024.
The pair of All-SIAC honorees and Kentucky State men's basketball will continue their championship run tonight at 8 p.m. against the No. 1E Clark Atlanta Panthers inside Forbes Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
