DENMARK, S.C. – In the opening game against Voorhees, Kentucky State Baseball fell 7-0 Friday in Denmark, South Carolina.
The Thorobreds recorded seven hits in the game, with
Kendall Garland,
Brad Dossett,
Cedric Poellnitz, Ryan Campbell,
Zion Lewis, and
Bakari Rush each contributing to the scoresheet.
Pitcher
Brady Wooldridge went the distance, striking out six while allowing eight hits and seven runs.
Voorhees scored their first runs of the afternoon on a sacrifice fly in the second inning and crossed home plate in the sixth inning to take a 2-0 lead through six innings.
In the seventh inning the Tigers scored five runs and sealed a 7-0 win over the Thorobreds.
The series will continue with a doubleheader tomorrow beginning tomorrow at noon.
