BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kentucky State women's basketball struggled in the second half of an 86-48 loss to Miles on Wednesday night in Birmingham, Alabama.
Junior
Diara McBroom led the Thorobreds with 14 points, as both McBroom and Senior
Jeana Weatherspoon grabbed six rebounds each.
In the opening quarter, the Golden Bears shot 50% (10-of-120) from the field and made three three-pointers take 23-19 lead at the end of the first.
Miles shot over 70% (15-of-21) from the field that helped them outscore Kentucky State 35-14 in the second quarter and take a 58-33 halftime lead.
Both teams had a low scoring third quarter, but eight shots from the field in the fourth quarter by Miles extended their lead to an 86-48 win.
UP NEXT
Kentucky State will begin their tournament run this Saturday, March 1 with the opponent and location set to be announced late Wednesday night.
