WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Kentucky State men's basketball looks to split their regular season series Saturday, Feb. 22 as they meet the Central State Marauders for the second meeting this season.
SERIES AT GLANCE
The Thorobreds met the Marauders on Feb. 1 and took a 91-85 mini-homecoming loss but still holds a 15-12 series advantage. In Marauder land, the Thorobreds are 5-8 and have the last three games played in Wilberforce, Ohio.
FROM THE STABLE
Near the end of their regular season the Thorobreds are 12-10 overall and 9-8 in SIAC play. A 77-71 win at LeMoyne-Owen (Feb. 10) followed by a 105-95 against Spring Hill (Feb. 17) put Kentucky State on two-game win streak.
Senior
Lavar Miller Jr. continues to lead the country from beyond the arc averaging 4.36 three-pointers game, 96 made three-pointers on 251 three-pointers attempted so far this season. He also leads the Thorobreds with 19.6 points per game.
SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
Under new leadership Central State has improved to 14-11 on the season and 9-8 in league, while currently on a three-game winning streak. Most recently (Feb. 18) Central State defeated Tuskegee 75-57.
