MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The SIAC West Division Cluster comes to a close as Kentucky State women's volleyball drops a five-set match 3-2 to the Tuskegee Golden Tigers on Saturday.
The Thorobreds opened strong with a 25-18 win in the first set, but the Golden Tigers responded to take the next two, 25-23 and 25-12. Kentucky State forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-19 win in the fourth, before Tuskegee closed out the match 15-7.
Amber Gregory led all players with 22 digs, while
Jada Knight paced Kentucky State with 23 assists. Three Thorobreds finished in double figures in kills, led by 11 from
Ananiah Huguely, while
Sydnee Breda-Nixon and
Cydne Clayton added 10 apiece.
Kentucky State will return to the Bluegrass State to face Cumberlands on Oct. 29, with first serve scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
