CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Kentucky State women's volleyball fell in straight sets (21-25, 27-29, 16-25) to Thomas More on Tuesday evening inside the Connor Convocation Center.
Laila Wheaton led the Thorobreds offensively with seven kills, followed by six each from
Cydne Clayton and
Ananiah Huguely.
Jada Knight and
Sienna Stewart shared setting duties, combining for 24 assists, while Knight added two service aces and nine digs.
Defensively, Huguely and
Zora Nooks each collected a pair of digs in the back row, while Wheaton contributed three block assists at the net. As a team, Kentucky State recorded 26 kills, 22 attack errors, and a .041 hitting percentage.
Thomas More hit .193 on the night, paced by 19 kills from Ebony Gomez and 18 assists from Audrey Warrick.
The Thorobreds will head to Memphis, Tenn. for the SIAC West Division Cluster, Oct. 24-25.
