RINDGE, N.H. – For the first time in program history Kentucky State football will face the Franklin Pierce Ravens this Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. inside of Sodexo Field in Rindge, New Hampshire.

Friday's matchup will be the first meeting between to the two programs and the second non-conference contest for the Thorobreds.

About the Ravens
The Ravens are 3-3 overall and 2-2 in Northeast-10 Conference play. In their most recent outing on Oct. 11, Franklin Pierce fell 21-0 to conference opponent Saint Anselm. Offensively, the Ravens are averaging 4.1 yards per rush and 6.5 yards per pass attempt, with five rushing touchdowns and 12 passing touchdowns on the season. Sophomore Jordan Eli is a Raven to watch as he leads the team with 48 tackles this season.

From the Stable
Kentucky State has found its stride early, improving to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in SIAC play with a 42-14 victory over Edward Waters on Oct. 11.

Senior wide receiver
Jon McCall set the SIAC single-game high in receiving yards this season, hauling in 162 yards against the Tigers.

Freshman running back Chad Elzy added a career-best performance, rushing for 148 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Thorobreds Ranked Amongst Best in the Nation
Defensively, Kentucky State ranks 6th nationally with 11 interceptions, led by
Navy Curry, who stands 2nd in the country with 166 interception return yards and is tied for the longest return in Division II (100 yards). The Thorobreds' defensive success places them ahead of Kentucky Wesleyan (#22) and Thomas More (#146).

Matt Bolanos ranks 13th nationally with an average of 42.4 yards per punt, leading all Bluegrass punters.

In the receiving game,
Jon McCall ranks 17th nationally with six touchdown receptions, while
Darius Cyprian is 58th with four. Freshman Chad Elzy is tied for 10th nationally for his three-touchdown performance in the win over Edward Waters (Oct. 11) — the most by any player in the Bluegrass this season.
