FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State men's basketball will host LeMoyne-Owen on Monday, Jan. 27, in support of Coaches vs. Cancer; the tip is slated for 5:30 p.m. in the Exum Center.
Spectators will have the opportunity to make signs with the names of friends and family members who have been impacted by cancer.
SERIES AT GLANCE
With Monday's matchup being the 26th meeting between the two, Kentucky State has the series edge 13-12 after winning the last meeting 105-99 on Feb. 5, 2025. At home the Thorobreds hold a 9-4 series advantage.
FROM THE STABLE
The Thorobreds enter Monday 9-9 on the season and 6-7 in league play and are returning home after a pair of road losses to Spring Hill (101-84) and Tuskegee (73-83).
Lavar Miller Jr. has found is groove from long-range leading the Thorobreds with 80 three-pointers and averaging 19 points per game. Making his presence known this season is
Aziel Blackwell who is shooting 80 percent from the charity stripe to average 18.1 points per game.
SCOUTING THE MAGICIANS
The Magicians are off to a tough start this season with a 3-15 overall record and a 3-9 conference record. Spending nearly all of the month January on the road, LeMoyne-Owen most recently loss to Central State 86-69 Jan. 25.
