FRANKFORT, Ky. – Off to an 8-5 start in SIAC play Kentucky State softball will host Miles College (5-20, 2-11 SIAC) in a three game homestead beginning this Friday (April 5).
The Series
Miles College has won the last four contests against Kentucky State, sweeping the most recent series 3-0 from April 1-2, 2023. In the final game of the series, held in Fairfield, Alabama, Miles clinched a 6-3 win.
About Miles
This season Miles 2-11 in league play holds the fifth spot in the SIAC West Division. Their two conference wins have come at Lane (1-0) and against Clark Atlanta (11-3).
From the Stable
So far this season the Thorobreds have already improved from their 2023 SIAC record of 6-14 to 8-5 with three conference series remaining on the 2024 schedule.
During their last series at Lane they picked up a 13-6 in game two but dropped the series 2-1.

Tanisha Valdez has earned 26 hits, six homers and a batting average of .356. Alongside Valdez,
Tayler Floyd has had a strong showing at the plate tallying 21 hits, 16 hits and a batting average of .304.
On the mound
Theresa Pelland leads the way with 5 wins and 40 strikeouts through 53.1 innings pitched. Following the lead of Pelland,
Kayla West has earned 22 strikeouts in 46.1 innings pitched to earn two wins this season.
