FRANKFORT, Ky. - In a thrilling five-set match the Kentucky State men's volleyball team emerged victorious over Benedict, with set scores of 21-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-20, and 15-9.
Benedict took the first set 25-21 and second set 25-22, both sets had a total of 15 ties and seven lead changes.
Kentucky State took the third set 25-21 with one tie and one lead change.
Malachi Allen led the set with five kills and 5.5 points.
The Thorobreds continued to fight and tied the match 2-2 after winning the fourth set 25-20. This set
Jordan Howard led with four kills and 5.5 points.
Three team blocks led the way for a fifth set 15-9 win and a 3-2 match win for the Thorobreds.
Men's Volleyball will head to Rochester, New York to face Roberts Wesleyan on Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m.
