SAVANNAH, Ga. – Kentucky State men's basketball (12-13, 9-11 SIAC) enters the 2024 SIAC Men's Basketball Championship as the #4 seeded in the west and will face the #6 in the east Savannah State on Tuesday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. in Savannah, Georgia.
From the Stable
In their final game of the season Kentucky State picked up a big 74-69 win over the #2 seed Tuskegee Golden Tigers.
Lavar Miller Jr. led the way making eight three-pointers to lead both teams with 30 points. During the game
Aziel Blackwell scored 12 and
Brandon Hill tallied 11 points.
As a group the Thorobreds rank 14th in the nation averaging 13.62 offensive rebounds per game and 23rd averaging 40 rebounds per game.
The Thorobreds are deadly on the fast break scoring 16.17 points on fast breaks to lead the SIAC and rank 15th in the nation.
Last Meeting
The pair met during the regular season on Dec. 9 where Savannah State came out on top 75-65 inside Tiger Arena. Qua King of Savanah State led the contest with 25 points going 11-of-16 from the field.
Lavar Miller Jr. was scored in the double digits with 13 points.
