UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Kentucky State men's basketball to face Winston-Salem State at the 2024 Toyota Chris Paul HBCU Classic on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 2:30 p.m. in Uncasville, Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
The 2024 Toyota Chris Paul HBCU Classic kicks off for the Thorobreds on Dec. 19 with a matchup against Winston-Salem State. Depending on the outcome, the Thorobreds will either advance to the championship game on Dec. 20 at 1:30 p.m. or compete in the consolation game at 11 a.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Kentucky State fell to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in SIAC play following an 81-69 loss to defending SIAC champions Clark Atlanta on Dec. 16. Against the Panthers,
Keon Henderson led the Thorobreds with 17 points shooting over 60% (7-of-11) from the field.
Ogien Ayo continued to play his key role with 16 points making 17 shots from the field.
Under first-year head coach Corey Thompson, the Rams have started the season 2-6. They returned stateside after a pair of losses at the Virgin Islands Classic. On Dec. 13, the Rams fell to SIAC opponent Tuskegee 70-60, followed by a 90-80 loss to the University of Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 14.
