OWENSBORO, Ky. – Mondrea Williams recorded Kentucky State's first double-double of the season, while 
Naja Fenelon led the team with 14 points in a 76-66 loss to Kentucky Wesleyan.
 
Williams collected six defensive and four offensive rebounds for a total of 10, adding 10 points to secure her first double-double of the season.
 
Fenelon continued her strong start to the season shooting 100% (2-of-2) at the charity stripe combined with five field goals helped her the Thorobreds with 14 points. 
Shannon Niles also scored in the double-digits with 11 points. 
 
The first points of the night went to Kentucky State on a three-pointer by 
Naja Fenelon with an assist from 
Shannon Niles. Kentucky Wesleyan followed with a 12-2 run to take a 12-5 lead at 4:50 in the first quarter. 
 
Fenelon brought the Thorobreds to within three of the 16-13 Panthers lead on a layup at the end of the first quarter. 
 
In the second quarter the Thorobreds kept the Panthers scoreless for over two minutes. The quarter ended with a layup by Fenelon and a KSU 6-0 run that closed on the 32-27 Kentucky Wesleyan halftime lead. 
 
Arielle Dabu of Kentucky Wesleyan hit a three-pointer to give her team a ten-point 45-35 lead at 3:23 in the third. 
 
The Panthers went into another scoring drought in the third quarter, allowing the Thorobreds to capitalize with a 9-2 run. By the end of the quarter, the Thorobreds had narrowed the deficit to just three points, trailing 47-44.
 
A made free-throw by 
Amaris Timmons tied the game 47-47 and a made layup by 
Jeana Weatherspoon gave the Thorobreds a brief lead of 49-47 early in the fourth (8:14). 
 
The fourth quarter featured four ties and five lead changes before a 10-0 Panthers run led to a 76-66 win for Kentucky Wesleyan.
