BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Kentucky State women's basketball drops exhibition at Western Kentucky 104-49, Saturday afternoon inside E.A. Diddle Arena.
Naja Fenelon reached double figures for the third consecutive game, tallying 13 points on five field goals, including three from beyond the arc. She led the Thorobreds alongside
Jeana Weatherspoon, who added 13 points with two free throws and five field goals.
Amaris Timmons led Kentucky State with 10 rebounds and two steals, while scoring eight points.
The Hilltoppers scored first on a jumper on their first possession of the game. For the Thorobreds Timmons was the first to score on layup assisted by
Naja Fenelon at 8:46 in the first quarter.
A pair of free-throws Western Kentucky gave them a 13 point, 27-14 lead at the end of the first.
Western Kentucky pulled away with a lengthy 21-4 run, building a 41-18 lead with 4:56 left in the second quarter. They would go on to continue their momentum and end the first half with a 58-25 lead.
Weatherspoon fueled an 11-2 run for the Thorobreds with six points late in the third quarter. Kentucky State held the Hilltoppers scoreless for the final 2:48 of the period.
In the fourth quarter, the Hilltoppers bounced back from the third, launching a 14-2 run. A six-minute scoreless stretch by the Thorobreds extended the lead to 89-42 with 4:56 remaining.
Western Kentucky went on a late 9-2 run to defeat the Thorobreds 104-49.

The Thorobreds will open their home schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 12 against Trevecca Nazarene at 6 p.m. inside the Exum Center.
