FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State men's and women's basketball begin conference play at home to Fort Valley State on Saturday, Nov. 15. The women's game will lead off the doubleheader at 1 p.m. inside the Exum Center.
Kentucky State women's basketball team enters its game against the Wildcats with an 0-2 record, most recently falling to Trevecca Nazarene, 71-61, on Nov. 12. The Thorobreds are led by
Mondrea Williams, who is averaging 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds per game.
Fort Valley State women's basketball team holds a 1-1 overall record and is 1-0 in SIAC play after a narrow 49-46 victory over Central State on Nov. 14. Aaniyah Allen led the Wildcats with 16 points and seven steals against the Marauders, holding them to just 16 points in the second half.
In an exciting home opener on Nov. 13, Kentucky State men's basketball defeated Tiffin, 79-72. Three Thorobreds scored in double figures, led by
Lavar Miller Jr. with 24 points.
Ogien Ayo recorded the team's first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while
Keon Henderson added 16 points in his debut for the green and gold.
Fort Valley State men's basketball team enters Saturday's contest with an 0-3 overall record and an 0-1 mark in SIAC play, following a 77-62 loss to Central State on Nov. 14. Two Wildcats are averaging double figures: Sayerr Senghore with 12.3 points per game and Jahlen Jack with 10.7 points per game.
