FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State women's volleyball fell to Lane College in a grueling five-set match at Bell Gymnasium on Friday night, narrowly missing out in a 24-26, 25-19, 25-23, 18-25, 10-15 loss.
Camri Goodwin led Kentucky State with 14 kills, hitting .400, while teammate
Randi Neal added seven kills and two blocks.
Amber Gregory facilitated the offense with a team-high 24 assists, while
Saniyya Harville contributed defensively with eight digs. The Thorobreds recorded 45 kills on a .117 hitting percentage but were outdone by Lane's strong net play, which culminated in 10 total blocks.
Lane's Kyra Gaston proved to be a force with 10 kills and four blocks, while Syraia Harvey's 23 assists paced the Dragons. Despite Kentucky State's early set victories, Lane surged in the final frame, sealing the match with an efficient .333 hitting percentage.
The Thorobreds will close their home schedule tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. to the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians. Kentucky State will celebrate their seniors at 11:30 a.m. prior to warmups of the game.
