Kentucky State Women’s Volleyball Picks Up a Pair of Hard-Fought Wins at SIAC Cluster

MOBILE, Ala. – Kentucky State women's volleyball picks up a pair of hard-fought wins with a 3-1 win against Miles and a 3-2 versus Tuskegee in day one of their SIAC Cluster in Mobile, Alabama. 
 
Match 1: Kentucky State 3, Miles 1
Kentucky State earned a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Miles in their first match of the day. After dropping the first set 18-25, the Thorobreds rallied to win the next three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-13, improving their SIAC record to 2-3.
 
Kentucky State was led by Randi Neal, who recorded 15 kills with a .667 hitting percentage, while Leah Tubbs added 13 kills. Amber Gregory distributed 30 assists, and Justice Mudd anchored the defense with a team-high 31 digs. The Thorobreds tallied 60 kills and posted a .199 hitting percentage in the match, bouncing back from a slow start to dominate the final three sets. Miles College struggled offensively after a strong first set, hitting just .084 overall, with 35 total kills.
 
Match 2: Kentucky State 3, Tuskegee 2
In a five-set thriller later in the evening, Kentucky State outlasted Tuskegee University 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-12) to complete the day's sweep. The Thorobreds improved to 3-3 in conference play, winning a back-and-forth match that saw momentum shifts in every set.
 
Randi Neal again led the way with 12 kills, while Jaicee Corcoran added 12 kills and 18 digs. Mudd continued her stellar defensive play, racking up 36 digs, while Gregory contributed 29 assists. Kentucky State capitalized on Tuskegee's 30 attack errors, holding the Golden Tigers to a .179 hitting percentage.
