FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gracen Kerr hits her 1000 career points milestone after scoring 21 points during the 80-69 Kentucky State victory over the Midway Eagles.
The Thorobreds were led by a combined 42 points from duo
Taleah Dilworth and Kerr who scored 21 points each. Kerr also led both teams with nine assists and five steals.
Aiseosa Woghiren controlled the paint again leading the contest with 13 points alongside adding 11 points to earn another double-double on the season.
Dilworth led the Thorobreds with 12 points in the first quarter to trail the Midway Eagles 18-21.
A three-pointer by
Gracen Kerr gave the Thorobreds a 25-24 that was followed with a Midway three-pointer to tie the game 27-27 at 6:30 in the second quarter.
Kerr made a lay-up to tie the game 31-31 and converted on the turnover to extend the lead 33-31 in second quarter.
Kerr scored her 1000th point with a three pointer at 1:33 in the second quarter allowing the Thorobreds to jump ahead 38-35. The Thorobreds would end the half with 43-40 lead.
Six points from
Hilani Cantone led to a 14-2 run and 68-54 lead at 1:26 in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter Dilworth went 4-of-5 from the field and a final layup from Woghiren helped secure an 80-69 win over the Eagles.
