MOBILE, Ala. – Two clutch free-throws from
Erica Jones in the final seconds drive Kentucky State to a 77-75 win at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama.
Shooting 4-of-9 from beyond the arc and 8-of-17 from the field
Gracen Kerr led both teams with 22 points she also led with eight assists.
Going 100% (8-of-8) at the charity stripe and shooting over 50% from the field
Taleah Dilworth scored 18 points and led the contest with four steals.
As both teams spent minutes being scoreless the first quarter ended in a 16-16 deadlock.
Spring Hill capitalized on nine second chance points in the second quarter to take a 34-25 lead at halftime.

Gracen Kerr at the three-point line and a made layup by
Naja Fenelon tied the game 45-45 at the 3:28 minute mark. The Badgers scored on a jumper, but Kerr responded with one for herself tie the game 47-47. Dilworth made both of her free throws to match the Badgers 51-51 with 52 second remaining in the second half.
Aiesosa Woghiren hit a jumper to tie the game 56-56 and followed with a layup to give the Thorobreds a 58-56 lead at 7:33 in the fourth.
Erica Jones scored on her own rebound and made a layup she was followed by two made free-throws from Dilworth gave the Thorobreds a 75-74 with 46 seconds remaining in regulation.
In the final second of the fourth Spring Hill was sent to the line and made one of their two attempts to tie the game 75-75. The Badgers sent Jones to the charity stripe where she made both attempts to win the game 77-75.
Kentucky State will have the weekend off and will host Miles on Monday, Jan. 22 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Exum Center.
