Jaylen Johnson to attend 2023 SIAC Football Media Day at Chic-Fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, GA.
Media Day will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the Head Coaches Interviews beginning 9:05 a.m. following the completion of the coaches interviews Individual Team and Coach Interviews will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Following media the SIAC will announce the 2023 Hall of Fame Class along with honoring Kentucky State's own Collier Higgs as he will be receiving his Man of the Year Award.
2022 Replay
Under the guidance of Paul Hamilton, Kentucky State football achieved a 4-6 overall record and 4-3 in league play during the 2022 season. The Thorobreds excelled in time of possession (34:59 minutes per game, 2nd in Division II), passing yards per completion (16.25 yds per rec., 6th), and rushing offense (220 yds per game, 14th). Additionally, they led the SIAC by allowing just 110.8 rushing yards per game and dominated offensively with 220 rushing yards per game.

In Feb. 2023, Felton Huggins Jr. became Head Football Coach at Kentucky State, following his role as Assistant Coach for Wide Receivers at McNeese State. Previously, he served as offensive coordinator and inside wide receivers coach at Charleston Southern, where his players achieved notable rankings and records. At LaGrange College, his offenses consistently excelled in the USA South conference, with players earning accolades and setting team records.

Jimmy Edmonds; Defensive Linemen | 6'2" | 280 lbs | Sr. | Louisville, Ky. – Ballard HS
In his junior season (2023) Edmonds played in 9 games and had an outstanding season. He achieved a career-high of 15 solo tackles and a total of 28 tackles, including 13 assisted tackles. Furthermore, he recorded 7 solo tackles for a loss and 5 assisted tackles for a loss, accumulating a total of 51 yards. Edmonds earned 2 pass breakups (PBU), with 1 against Benedict on Sep. 24 and 1 against Savannah State on Oct. 2.
In 2021, as a sophomore, Edmonds played in 10 games and accumulated 23 tackles, comprising 10 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles. He displayed his defensive prowess with 7 solo tackles for a loss, as well as 5 tackles for a loss amounting to 39 yards. Edmonds achieved 4.5 sacks, with 3 unassisted sacks and 3 assisted sacks, totaling 24 yards.
During his freshman year in 2019, Edmonds played in 9 games and showcased his skills with a season high of five tackles against Jackson State on September 28.
