FRANKFORT, Ky. – Joseph Esparza had four home runs, eight runs and batted (RBI) in six runners as the Kentucky State baseball split their doubleheader with Savannah State Sunday afternoon at the Franklin County Baseball field in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The Thorobreds defeated the Tigers 13-2 in eight innings. In the second contest the Tigers defatted the Thorobreds 19-5.
In the first game the Thorobreds tallied 14 hits and three homeruns,
Daniel Moore and Esparza led Kentucky State with three runs.
Antonio Chambers and Esparza tallied four RBI's each that earned eight of the 12 RBI's by the Thorobreds. Pitcher
Eric Turner earned the win.
Savannah State had a strong first and seventh inning to win the game 18-5.
Collier Higgs and Esparza went 2-of-3 at the plate. Esparza added another home run in the first inning.
