BLUEFIELD, W. V. – Brandon Hill earns a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds in their regular season finale at Bluefield State Wednesday evening in Bluefield, West Virginia.
Kentucky State dominated in the paint scoring 28 of their 40 first-half points in the paint alongside the Thorobreds bench, outscoring the Big Blue bench 14-6. Bluefield State would take advantage of their time at the charity stripe to take a 48-40 lead at the end of the first.
The Thorobreds scored 16 points from fast breaks and continued to control the paint with 38 points.
Aziel Blackwell led Kentucky State with 13 points in the second, with his teammate
Shamon Mosley tallying 12. In the second half, Bluefield State hit nine three-pointers to defeat the Thorobreds 107-92.
Several Thorobreds scored in the double digits following 18 points from Hill, Blackwell scored 17, Mosley tallied 16,
Kong Kong earned 15, and
Khalif Crawley, Jr. finished with 13 points.
Kentucky State will head to Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday, Feb. 25, as they begin the 2023 SIAC Basketball Championship Tournament.
