ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Kentucky State University softball heads to Orangeburg, South Carolina, for the SIAC vs. CIAA Challenge slated for Feb. 18-19. 
 
The Thorobreds will open the challenge to Shaw University on Saturday, Feb. 18; this will be the season opener for the Bears. 
 
Following their contest with Shaw, the Thorobreds will play Virginia State at 4 p.m. The Trojans are 0-2 this season and will open their day to Albany State at noon. 
 
Kentucky State will open the final day of play to Fayetteville State on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. The Broncos are 0-2 this season and will meet Benedict and Edward Waters before their match with the Thorobreds. 
 
The SIAC vs. CIAA challenge will close out to Bluefield State at noon on Sunday, Feb. 19; the Big Blue is opening its 2023 season at the challenge and will take on Albany State and Allen before meeting Kentucky State. 
 
So far, the Thorobreds have played in six games and defeated Young Harris College 10-8 during the Charger Chillout Hosted by the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
