FRANKFORT, Ky. – Montrell Jacobs and 
Jalon Andrews scored 21 points in a tough 77-75 loss to the Lane Dragons Wednesday evening inside the Exum Center. 
 
Andrews and 
Ifeoluwa Shoyoye led the Thorobreds with eight rebounds. Andrews also led his team with three steals and two blocks. 
 
How It Happened 
Jalon Andrews scored quickly on a jumper as the Dragons responded with a quick two to tie the game. The game would tie at 5-5 on a Lane three-pointer and 8-8 on another long-range three. 
Montrell Jacobs tied the game 10-10 on a layup at 15:03 in the first half. 
 
A jumper by 
Tyson Brooks and a three-pointer by Jacobs gave the Thorobreds a 15-10 lead at 14:29 in the first half.  
 
The Dragons went on a 6-0 run to take a 16-15 lead with 12:51 remaining in the first half. 
 
Kentucky State would tie the game 19-19 on a layup by 
Brandon Hill, and 
Jay Murrell tied the game 21-21 near the midway point of the first half(10:46). 
 
Lane led for a moment before Andrews tied the game 25-25 on a made free throw. Kentucky State tied the game again 27-27 on a layup by Jacobs. 
 
A late run by the Dragons gave them a 40-34 lead at the end of the first quarter. 
 
On a three-pointer by Andrews, Kentucky gained their first lead (53-52) of the second half (13:56). A layup by 
Ifeoluwa Shoyoye gave the Thorobreds a 55-52 lead. The Dragons took back the lead (56-55) with a free throw and layup. Shoyoye made a layup to give his team a 59-56 lead. 
 
Murrell hit a three to give the Thorobreds a 62-60 lead at 9:48 in the second half. The Thorobreds got a five-point 65-60 lead on a three-pointer from Hill. 
 
Lane came within one of the Kentucky State 70-69 lead at 4:44 in the second half. 
 
The Dragons hit a three-pointer to give them a 74-72 advantage with 2:25 remaining in the second half. 
 
Kong hit a wide-open three-pointer to give the Thorobreds a 75-74 lead with just under two minutes remaining in the second half. The Dragons went on to defeat the Thorobreds 77-75.
