Thorobreds Fall at Miles

FAIRFIELD, Ala. – Kentucky State women's basketball fell 60-38 to the Miles College Golden Bears Monday evening in Fairfield, Alabama. 
 
Hilani Cantone led Kentucky State with 15 points while also tallying six rebounds. Laurie Thomas earned ten rebounds to lead both Kentucky State and Miles in rebounds. Both Taleah Dilworth and Victory Vincent earned two blocks each. 
 
How It Happened
Cantone got the Thorobreds on the board with a three-pointer giving the Thorobreds a 3-2 at 8:07 in the first quarter. 
 
The Golden Bears took back a 3-5 lead for a brief moment before Dilworth tied the game 5-5 on a midrange jumper as 5:55 remained in the first quarter. 
 
Kentucky State tied the game 7-7 on a jumper at 4:25 in the first quarter. 
 
After a short 8-7 lead by the Golden Bears, Gracen Kerr made a jumper to give Kentucky State a 9-8 lead late in the first quarter. Miles went on a short run to end the quarter with a 14-9 lead. 
 
A three-pointer by Kerr brought Kentucky State to within two of the Miles 16-14 lead at 8:44 in the second quarter. 
 
Miles would lead Kentucky State 32-25 at the end of the second quarter. 
 
A 5-0 run by the Golden Bears late in the third quarter gave Miles a 45-33 lead at the end of the third quarter. 
 
The Golden Bears went on a 9-2 run with 2:38 remaining in the fourth quarter to lead the Thorobreds 54-35. 
 
Kentucky State falls to Miles 60-38 at the end of the fourth quarter.
