Kentucky State men's basketball will open the weekend at rival Central State on Saturday, January 9, and will follow on Monday, January 16, at Miles. 
 
January 14: Kentucky State at Central State
Kentucky State defeated SIAC opponent Spring Hill College 80-70 at home to bring them to 7-2 in conference play and 8-4 on the season. 
 
Jay Murrell leads the Thorobreds averaging 15 points per game, followed by Montrell Jacobs, who averages 14 points per game. Jalon Andrews is leading the Thorobreds averaging 7.9 rebounds per game while averaging 12.7 points per game.
 
Central State is 5-10 this season and 5-5 in SIAC play, as they met Tuskegee in their last matchup and fell 67-50. 
 
The Thorobreds have had the last three matchups with Marauders, 77-75 (2/22/2020), 68-64 (1/27/2022), and 98-83 (2/12/2022). 
 
January 16: Kentucky State at Miles 
The Thorobreds will travel to Fairfield, Alabama, following their road contest at Central State. 
 
Miles is hot and currently on a six-game winning streak that has them 8-2 in SIAC play and 12-3 overall. In their last matchup, they defeated the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians 72-70.  
 
The Golden Bears have the last four matchups with the Thorobreds.
