Columbia, SC - Kentucky State Football fell to their first SIAC Conference opponent, the Benedict College Tigers, when the Tigers started a late fourth quarter scoring run.

The Thorobreds took an early 7-0 lead with a passing completion from Johnathan Jerry to
Jaden Hale.

Benedict College would later score with just 2:28 remaining in the first quarter. After a missed field goal from the Tigers, the score stood at 7-6.

The Tigers would score again before the half from a 41-yard pass to J. Thomas giving them momentum for the rest of the game.

Kentucky State's
Christopher Coneway responded with a rushing touchdown in the 3rd quarter tying the score. The Thorobreds would remain scoreless in the second half.

Benedict College scored three times in the fourth quarter. With each pass completion from E. Phoenix, the Tigers would extend their lead. The Tigers would defeat the Thorobreds 40-14.

Kentucky State Football will travel to Savannah, Georgia to face their next conference opponent, the Savannah State Tigers. Savannah State stands at 2-1 in conference play. The game will take place at 6 p.m. in the Theodore A. Wright stadium on October 1st.
