DAYTON, Ohio – Kentucky State held division I opponent the Dayton Flyers to just 10 points in the first half. The Flyers returned from the half, scoring 36 points and defeating the Thorobreds 46-3 at Welcome Stadium.
Dayton put the first points on the board with a short pass to J. Chisholm late in the first quarter (3:26), giving the Flyers a 7-0 at the end of the quarter.
At the halfway point of the second quarter (7:59),
Mason Molique nailed a 43-yard field goal to put three on the board. The Flyers responded with a 38-yard field giving them a 10-3 lead at halftime.
Momentum shifted early in the third quarter as Casciola connected to Chisholm on a 54-yard pass and added two quick points on a safety on the kickoff. The Flyers scored a rushing and passing touchdown to lead the game 32-3.
The game ended with two rushing touchdowns by the Flyers, securing a 46-3 victory.
Kentucky State will head to Columbia, South Carolina, to meet their first conference opponent, the Benedict Tigers, who are undefeated in the regular season (3-0) and conference (1-0) play. The contest is slated for Saturday, September 24th, at 6 p.m. inside the Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.
