Rock Hill, Sc. - The Kentucky State men's basketball team fell to the 5th east seeded Fort Valley St.
Montrell Jacobs led Kentucky St. with 17 points along with six rebounds.
The Thorobreds started strong early, maintaining a good lead throughout. The peak of that lead reached ten on a Jacobs three to make the score 23-13 with a little over 11 minutes left in the first half. Fort Valley would claw their way back and make the game competitive.
The first half closed on a
Kong Kong three and tieing the game at 33-33.
In the second half, things fell apart for Kentucky State. Shots did not fall for the Thorobreds as they shot 19% from the field in the half and 9% from the arc.
Fort Valley kept pace from what they completed in the first half, leading to KSU's downfall.
Kentucky State was outscored 20-40 in the second half as they fell to Fort Valley St. 53-73.
Coach Jamall Jackson kept it brief, saying it's a "make or miss game" and the loss wasn't due to Fort Valley but that "we couldn't knock the shots down."
