Jonatan Ward and Brett Sylve Set to Play in HBCU Legacy Bowl

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Two Kentucky State Football Alumni, Brett Sylve and Jonatan Ward will play in the inaugural HBCU Legacy Bowl.
 
The HBCU Legacy Bowl is a postseason all-star game that will showcase the best NFL draft-eligible football players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
 
During the regular season, Sylve eclipsed 1000 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns, which ranked 1st among all HBCU's in the country. He earned SIAC offensive player of the year for his efforts. He also ranks 2nd all-time in career rushing yards and is tied for 2nd in career rushing touchdowns in KSU history.
 
During the regular season, punter Jonatan Ward earned first-team all-conference in the SIAC after leading the conference in an average punt with 42.4 yards per punt and a season-long of 65 yards. Ward would kick a total of 1231 yards on just 29 attempts. Ward has set the record for an average punt in KSU history with 42.4 yards per punt.
 
The bowl game will take place on February 19, 3:00 pm, at Yulman Stadium at Tulane University, and broadcast live on NFL Network.
